Curiosity- A Valuable Asset

Curiosity- A Valuable Asset

Curiosity is the fuel to the journey of life!

One of the finest elements of a human’s life is Curiosity. What is curiosity? It is an emotion. An emotion that drives the being to know more about something An emotion that acts as a booster in many cases. This is not only applicable to humans. It applies to all living organisms. A cat that sees a leaf falling off the tree for the first time watches it so keenly that it tries to jump and catch it the next time. This would not have been possible if it wasn’t curious about catching it. Humans are more curious as kids but they tend to lose it over a period of time. As a child, we all have tried to put our hands on fire all because we were curious to know what the colorful wavy thing was. Even after telling for umpteen times, we all must have done something our parents had asked us not to do. Curiosity is one such beautiful thing that takes you from one place to another in no time.

Let me narrate a short story to explain how important curiosity is :
Once, a boy in a town fell sick and stayed at home for a longer time. His father bought him a compass. A circular, shiny compass with a needle pointing to the North. The boy was so happy to receive it. He observed that the needle was pointing towards the North. He changed his direction to find the needle still pointing North. He did everything possible in his powers to change its direction but he failed at it. It appeared to him as if though there's an invisible thread pulling the needle back towards North. This was completely mysterious for the young lad. The boy wondered if that was the only mystery in this world. Are there more of these? Silent and hidden, unknown and unforeseen. The boy got goosebumps thinking all about this.
Now if this boy wasn't curious about the deflection of the needle towards North then you and I probably wouldn't have come across the Theory of Relativity. Yes. The young boy in the story was none other than Sir Albert Einstein. This is just one example but it's always curiosity that drives. Einstein always said, "I have no special talent. I'm passionately curious."

Curiosity may sometimes lead you to failures, but it always teaches you a lesson. A lesson to keep going ahead in life. Even if one makes a mistake, the curiosity in them guides them to step on the right path. One needs to understand why did something go wrong. If you're curious about your mistake, you definitely have the solution within you. Failure is never a stepping stone to success if you are not curious about your loss.

Be curious about everything in your life!
