Google is my dream company. It was one of my favorites among others but now it is the only company I like most. Everything started with one email that I got from my college. I got to know about 30 days of Google Cloud training. I enrolled in it. The most engrossing thing was the goodies. It was a kickstart to my career in the cloud. There was a session about the importance of this program by the DSC lead.

30 days of Google cloud was a set of knowledge, challenges, and rewards. On successful completion, I got a certificate, digital badges, and exciting goodies. There were two tracks to complete within 1 month.

1.Cloud Engineer Track

2.Data Science and Machine Learning Track

 

 

What is Google Cloud computing?

Cloud Computing refers to software services that run on the internet instead of locally on a computer in simple words. Computing resources provided are on-demand self-service. They are accessible over a network from any location; that is, they have broad network access. All the resources are available as required, that is there is rapid elasticity. You pay only for what you use and reserve.

You can’t use resources in the cloud in the absence of cloud networking. Cloud is a great home for application and data. Google cloud gives reasonably priced access to planet-scale infrastructure that Google runs on. Google’s network carries as much as 40% of the world's internet traffic every day.

Google cloud platform is a part of Google Cloud, which provides services like IaaS(Infrastructure as a Service), PaaS(Platform as a service), SaaS(Software as a Service). In IaaS users need to manage the operating system and the application. In PaaS, users need to manage applications and in Saas users only need to provide data.

The first wave of the trend that brought us towards cloud computing was colocation, where, instead of building costly capital intensive data centers, users can rent some space.

Google Cloud products and services are broadly categorized as Compute, Storage, Big Data, Machine Learning, Networking and Operations or Tools.

 

Google Cloud divides the world into 3 multi-regional areas: the Americas, Europe, and the Asia Pacific. These three multi-regional areas are divided into regions. Within a region, there is fast network connectivity. The regions are divided into zones. Google Cloud Platform customers use resources in several zones within a region and regions around the world for improved fault tolerance and to bring their applications closer to users around the world respectively. GCP offers 24 regions with 73 total zones and available in more than 200 countries and territories. This expansion will continue.

The GCP resources we use no matter where they reside must belong to a project. The projects are the main way to organize the resources used in GCP. Projects are always identified by a unique project ID and project number.

Projects are organized into folders and folders can be nested under folders. The organization is the root node under which these are present.

Conclusion

GCP lets users build, deploy, scale applications, websites, and services. Google Cloud is among the top cloud providers in the IT industry. The company is constantly evolving its services and improving. Cloud Computing is a new technological development that has the potential to have a great impact on the world. It’s very important to have a piece of good knowledge of all available options.

 

It comes as no surprise that a company like Google Cloud, with its abundant services and experiences in the area of making some excellent products, has never failed to impress its customers.
